INGREDIENTS

  • 300 g of ground beef
  • 300 g of ground pork
  • 1 tbsp. of vegetable oil
  • 1 slice of bread
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 cdas de leche
  • 2 sprigs fresh basil
  • 6 tomates medianos licuados
  • 1 medium blended carrot
  • 4 dried mushrooms
  • ¼ cup of red wine
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 35 g de Queso Parmesano rallado
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1 pouch of Q'ocina en Casa Red Sofrito Culinary Base

SAUCE PREPARATION

In a pan with hot oil, shallow-fry blended tomatoes and carrot for 5 mins.

Add wine, the contents of one pouch of Q'ocina en Casa Red Sofrito Culinary Base, los hongos, las hojas de laurel, 1 rama de albahaca, remover y cocinar a fuego intermedio durante 25 min. o hasta que tome punto salsa. Retirar del fuego y reservar hasta incorporar las albondigas

preparación ALBÓNDIGAS

In a bowl, add half of grated Parmesan cheese, bread, and milk. Mix and reserve.

In a separate bowl, add ground beef, ground pork, eggs, reserved mix from step 1, salt and pepper to taste. Mix with hands until obtaining a homogeneous mass.

With the mass, create golf ball-sized meatballs with your hands. Put them on a tray, keeping them separate.

Add meatballs to previously prepared pan of sauce, cover, and cook over medium heat for 10 mins. or until meatballs are cooked through. Remove from heat and add the rest of the Parmesan cheese and leaves from 1 sprig of basil.

TIP:

  • If desired, serve with cooked pasta or potato purée.

Nota: 1 tz = 250 ml
