INGREDIENTS
- 4 pieces chicken (approx. 2.2 lbs. legs and thighs, bone-in, or 1.3 lbs. fillet)
- 1 tbsp. vegetable oil
- ½ cup peas
- 1 red bell pepper, cut into strips
- 2 cups uncooked aged rice
- 2 cups cilantro
- 1 cup Schwarzbier
- 3 cups chicken broth or water
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 1 packet (1.79 oz) Q’ocina en Casa Green Sofrito Culinary Base
PREPARATION

Wash chicken, dry, season with salt and pepper, and sear in a pan with hot oil.

In the same pan, add Schwarzbier, cilantro (previously blended with 3 cups water or chicken broth), and contents of one packet of Q’ocina en Casa Green Sofrito Culinary Base.Stir and add salt to taste.

Cover pan and cook over medium heat for 20 mins. until chicken is cooked through. Remove chicken pieces and reserve, keeping them hot.

In the same pan, add 2 cups uncooked rice, peas, and bell pepper strips. Cover pot and cook over low heat until rice is done, with well-defined grains (approx. 20 mins.). Remove from heat.

Serve rice accompanied with reserved chicken pieces.
TIP:
- If desired, serve with sarza criolla relish.
