INGREDIENTS
- 1.3 lbs. ground beef
- 1 tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 medium carrot, grated
- 1 zanahoria mediana rallada
- 2 cups beef broth or water
- 4 dried mushrooms
- ¼ cup red wine
- 2 bay leaves
- 14 oz. spaghetti
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 1 packet (1.79 oz) Q’ocina en Casa Red Sofrito Culinary Base
SAUCE PREPARATION

In a pan with oil, sear beef seasoned with salt and pepper.

Immediately add red wine and cook until alcohol evaporates (approx. 10 secs.).

Add tomato to pan and cook for 5 mins.

Add contents of one packet of Q’ocina en Casa Red Sofrito Culinary Base, 2 cups beef broth or water, mushrooms, carrots, and bay leaves. Cook for 20 to 30 mins. Remove from heat. Q'ocina en Casa Red Sofrito Culinary Base, 2 tz de caldo de res o agua, los hongos, la zanahoria y las hojas de laurel. Cocinar entre 20 a 30 min. Retirar del fuego.

Finally, add salt and pepper to taste. Reserve.
PASTA PREPARATION

In a separate pot with 2 l hot water, cook spaghetti with a splash of oil until al dente (approx. 12 mins.). Strain and reserve.
TIP:

To serve, place hot pasta on plate and add sauce on top. Optionally, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
